There are two major lakes which are Lake Tanganyika and Lake Rukwa. Lake Tanganyika it is the second oldest freshwater in the word, second largest by volume and second deepest in all cases after lake Baikal in Siberia. It is also world’s longest freshwater lake. The lake is divided among four countries with Tanzania occupy the largest share of 46%. Katavi region has many rivers of like river Ugalla, Katuma, Kavuu, Mnyamasi, Rungwa, Msadya, Shula, Msaginya etc
